Brookvale Oval

Client: Warringah Council

Project: Brookvale Oval roof replacement, structural steel, sand blasting and painting

Murphy’s was engaged by Warringah Council to complete a $1.49 million project to replace the roof of three stands at Brookvale Oval.

The works included replacing corroded roof sheets, purlins and repairing concrete spalling.

The work on the stadium, home to the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, had to be carried out in the rugby league off-season. It was imperative that the project be completed for the new season fixtures.

Murphy’s successfully completed the project on schedule and the Council was impressed with our exceptional standard of work, effective communication and project management.

In addition, we were able to offer cost savings to the Council and there was no impact to public access to the pitch and surrounding grass area.

Murphy’s put traffic management in place and carefully timed all deliveries.

Other challenging factors included:

  • the safe operation of an 80tonne crane
  • operation plant equipment without damaging the stadium environment, and
  • working at heights

Murphy’s Key Project Management Team ensured the project was completed safely and on time without any WHS or environmental issues.
