Completed Project: Internal Heritage Refurbishment
Murphy’s Group completed the internal refurbishment of the operations building at a Government owned site. The building was constructed in the 1920’s and has major heritage significance hence works have been executed to ensure the heritage fabric of the building is maintained during the course of the works.
This heritage factor also meant that all new items installed (doors etc.) were required to match the existing heritage look. Murphy’s resourced various personnel & companies to ensure that all items reinstated and/or newly constructed on the project satisfy the client and the heritage architect.
SCOPE OF WORK:
The scope of works included the complete refurbishment of the commercial offices of the operations building as well as construction of a structural steel awning. The building is located on the busy Princess Highway at Tempe. The overall scope of works involved demolition, constructed of walls including cladding them, brickwork, installation of a new ceiling system throughout the building, bathroom works, tiling works, maintaining and/or restoration of the heritage skirting, windows & doors on site, new joinery, construction of new flooring works, construction of new footings, glazing works, painting of all previously painted services, construction of anodised aluminium frames, reinstatement of heritage fire places and all other works as required for the project to be successfully carried out.
The project was successfully completed with the appropriate programming of works, client relationship with the client and good development & implementation of controls.
